3. The upload of my files stops before it finishes?

Wait 15-20 minutes and try again. If the problem persists, please contact support with any error msgs you receive.

4. Where is my web page?

Residential users: http://www.webexpert.net/username
Business users: http://www.your_domain.com

5. I uploaded my page but it's not there?

This could describe two different situations.

If you cannot see the home page, check if the home page file name is default.htm or default.html. If the home page is named differently, change the file name to default.htm if you're on a windows server, or index.html if you're on a UNIX server.

If you do not see the updates made to your pages after transferring the updated versions, the browser is most likely reading the cache and not the updated files. You can then clear your browser's cache.

6. Access Denied errors trying to update files?

The errors may read Cannot create file -OR- Another user or process has modified the file. -OR- Access is denied.

Because our servers cache file handles for performance, some editors are unable to close the file. HomeSite, Dreamweaver, and EditPad are a few of the programs known to generate errors when attempting to overwrite cached files.

To work around this problem, upgrade to the latest version of your editor or use a dedicated FTP program. Also make sure the files you're trying to delete aren't open in your browser.

7. How much web space do I have?

If you are a Residential user, you have 10 MB of personal web space. If you signed up for us to provide web hosting for your business, you get at least 20 MB of web space, depending on which plan you choose.

8. How do I add more space?

Adding more space to your quota is very simple. Just email billing(at)networkexpert.net with the amount of extra space you would like and the name of your page.

Additional space is $1/MB per month.

9. How do I add a hit counter?

If you must use a counter, a good one is FastCounter.

If you host your domain name with us, you get stat reports every month - free.
These reports are more accurate than counters. If you haven't received your report, please contact us.

11. How can I add a site-search?

13. Is there a way to get indexed better by search engines?

14. Which web page editor do you recommend?

You can use anything you feel comfortable with, but please be aware different web page editors produce different results. For example, Frontpage tends to output code that doesn't work in Netscape.

For best results, code the page so it displays in all browsers. Recommended editors include Homesite, Topstyle, and Dreamweaver. Topstyle, in particular, includes tools for checking browser compatibility.

15. How do I get a domain?

Choose which hosting plan you want and contact us. New domains are set up within 24-48 hours.

16. How do I upload to an alternate FTP port?

Some FTP servers require you use an alternate FTP port to connect. Please see these screenshots to find out how.
