Outlook Express and Outlook 98/2000 Email Setup
Outlook can be configured at the time of installation through the Microsoft configuration wizard or manually, at a later point.
What do you want to do?
- Change an existing account
- Setup a new e-mail account
- Download the latest Outlook patches, enhancements, and upgrades
- Download the latest Outlook Express (recommended)
Changing an Existing Account
- From the Tools menu, choose Account.
- Select the Mail tab.
- Select the highlighted account.
- Click the Properties button.
- In the Mail account box, type NetworkExpert Mail
- In the Name box, type your name.
- In the Email Address box, type your email address. For example, [email protected]
- Check Include this account when doing a full send and receive.
- Select the Servers tab.
- In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box, type your outgoing mail server
- In the Incoming Mail (POP3) box, type
mail.yourdomain.com
or pop.webexpert.net
if you have a residential account.
- Select Log on using. In the Account name box, type your username (without any prefixes).
- In the Password box, type your password.
- Uncheck My server requires authentication.
- Click the Close button. You're now ready to receive e-mail!
Setting up a New Account
- Click the Tools menu. Click Accounts. Click the Mail tab. Click the Add button.
- From the Add menu, choose Mail.
- For Display name, type your name.
- Click the Next button to continue.
- For E-mail address, type your email address. Do not include any prefixes.
- In the Incoming mail (POP3) box, type
mail.yourdomain.com
or pop.webexpert.net
if you have a residential account.
- In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) box, type your outgoing mail server
- Click the Next button to continue. In the Account Name box, type in the first part of your email address. In the Password box, type your password. (Both are case sensitive.)
- Click the Next button to continue.
- Click the Next button again.
- Select Connect using my phone line.
- Click the Next button to continue.
- Select Use an existing dial-up connection.
- Select your NetworkExpert dial-up connection.
- Click the Next button to continue.
- Click the Finish button.
- Click the Close button. You're now ready to receive e-mail!
